Instrooments began in a Chicago-area garage in 2015. The idea was simple: a small group of determined people can make a meaningful impact by doing things differently.
Founded by a husband and wife as One World LLC, our name reflects a broad vision: one world, interconnected and sustainable. We saw how much perfectly good stuff was being thrown away and how businesses needed help adapting to a changing world.
We stay minimalist and agile, building on each team member’s strengths. We embrace a black-and-white mindset in design—clean, bold, and straightforward. When it comes to solving problems, we think in full color, outside the box, and beyond boundaries.
Continuous improvement is at the core of our work. Every project, product, and process is open to reflection and refinement. We celebrate small wins, learn from failures, and keep improving.
Our journey began with a fascination for taking electronics apart to understand how they worked and what they were made of.
That hands-on curiosity revealed valuable materials and working components being discarded simply because their original purpose was complete.
We started by refurbishing electronics, giving them a second life and keeping them in circulation. Our interest in creation grew alongside that work.
Could the same resourcefulness turn overlooked materials into something beautiful and functional? That question led to our freestanding patio fireplace.
